And so the goodbyes begin...

I'm aware of the fact that I have very recently done a blog post, but so much is happening in this last week that I thought I would try and fill you in whilst I have window of time.

On the 28th we went with Subir Roy (One of the founders of GNCEM) to visit the other schools and hostels they have for the street and slum children of Kolkata. Its absolutely amazing the work that they do and they are forever expanding as more and more families request for their child to attend. They never turn a child away, so it continues to grow. God has been so faithful as they trust in him entirely.

Two girls who moved up from Hatibagan to the girls hostel that we got to see again :)

The girls all praying out loud. This was amazing and beautiful to see how passionate they are at such a young age.

Josh with the boys that have moved up from Hatibagan to the boys hostel.

Yeah... He won.

On the 29th we went to Freeset. Not for our last time, but for the last time with Steve as hes going to visit his son on Monday. Steve has been an amazing mentor (type thing) and taught us many useful skills (no parents, these will not be put into practice when I get home.) He has also taught me, along with many people at Freeset, to be open and honest in everything and that through trusting in the Lord, great things can happen, no matter who you are, or what your circumstances are.

Gonna miss you!

On the 30th we got up early to put our sari's on and then we went to school!! Mad I know. The teachers have been requesting for a while that we do so we figured we would surprise them. It went down a treat!

Us with the teachers and the children.

Us with the teachers from the school.

That evening we went to Entally girls hostel for the very last time! The girls seemed really sad to see us go and said they will miss us. They're so lovely, even if they do make us run around outside in over 30 degree heat....
When everything was over and we were home, I had a shower and pretty much at exactly the same time, the water and power went. Sooo I ended up having a delightful drip shower by candlelight. What a wonderful way to round off the day!

On the 31st we got up to say good bye to Alfred (Anu's husband) as we won't see him again before going home.

Still in our pjs....

We then spent the entire morning and a bit tidying and starting to pack our room. I have NO idea how everything is going to fit into my suitcase.... Gonna have to put everything in priority order.

At 2ish me and Naomi went to Shanti Dan, and Ellen and Josh went to Kali Ghat for our last time!

Me, Maria, Naomi and Asha.
Our lovely Shanti Dan girls.

When we got home from Shanti Dan we went up to Anu's for another cooking lesson. This time we learnt how to make Katti rolls (/Egg rolls- Kolkata specialty), onion bhaji's and Lassi's. My family are in for a treat when I get home!

This morning (1st) we went to our very last morning church service!! Its sad to be leaving there, it was a lovely place to go and worship every Sunday morning. But I'm looking forward to going back to my home church this time next week!

Emmanuel Ministries, Kolkata.

Saying goodbye to church friends.

This evening we went to Assemblies of God church for our very last evening service. Some very good worship as usual, and at the end of the talk, Pastor Jacob prayed for us all.

Josh, Pastor Jacob, Nina (Jacobs wife), me and Ellen

Praying before we left.

So that's the beginning of our goodbyes. They're just gonna get harder and harder. Tomorrows our official last day at Freeset and Wednesday is our last day at school, and then Thursday we say goodbye to Kolkata.

The packing is also in full swing. We don't have any big spaces of free time now so its getting done in all the evenings and half hour gaps we have! Bit crazy being fully booked until like 9.30pm Wednesday evening when we leave at 6am Thursday morning!!

Loving our final days in the Indian madness we've come to call 'home'.
