Harriet's thought for the day.

Throughout tour I have met a whole range of interesting people, and had many interesting conversations. And its been amazing to see how God is working in peoples lives. Other peoples stories have made me even more grateful for the life God has given me, its actually so easy to forget that. Being in India and hearing peoples stories showed me just how blessed I am. And instead of always finding negatives I just want to live life to the full. But that got me thinking, what does it really mean to 'live life to the full'? People often associate that with things like sex and money and drugs. But how is that living? We put our faith in materialistic things which ultimately leads to disappointment. We're easily put down and disheartened. We see things through biased, cynical, pessimistic eyes. We judge and assume before we know the truth. We only do good when we can see the obvious reward or prize. We give and expect something in return. We fight and lie and cheat. We're always.moaning... But what if we OPENED our eyes. What if we LOVED everyone. What if we gave and did good JUST BECAUSE. What if we put our FAITH in the one who OPENS eyes, LOVES everyone, gives GENEROUSLY. The one who is SLOW to anger but RICH in LOVE. The mighty one who acts JUSTLY, walks HUMBLY, loves MERCY. The one who FILLS our hearts and CLEANSES our souls. What if we put our TRUST in the one who RESTORES the BROKEN and sets captives FREE. The one who sent his ONLY son so that we may have eternal FORGIVENESS. Its not about how much money we can make, how many holidays we can go on, how many people we sleep with, how drunk we can get, how many friends we have. Its not about getting to the highest level on an xbox game, seeing how much you can upset your 'enemies' or fighting just for fun. Its about loving and giving and trusting and putting your faith in the one who is ALWAYS there. When you know God, THAT'S when you start living.
